A Major Win for Victorian Teachers
Congratulations to our colleagues at the AEU on their recent in-principle agreement, which will soon make Victorian teachers the best-paid in the country.
Last Friday, the Victorian Branch of the Australian Education Union secured Victorian teachers’ pay rises between 28.3% to 32% over the next four years.
From pay increases, additional professional practice days and crucial classroom measures to manage the high stress workloads educators face, the new in-principle agreement recognises and addresses the worsening stress of educators and the massive role they play in shaping Victoria.

The agreement also extends to early childhood educators and education support staff who will see pay increases of 39.1% and 29.8% across the four-year period, respectively.
It’s amazing to see all the hard work and vital effort the AEU has put into fighting for our dedicated teachers and the future of Victoria’s education system.
